Inspired by the sun and the beauty of the southwest, this one-of-a-kind long oxidized sterling silver, 18K gold, and 14K gold necklace features a natural faceted Oregon sunstone and two rhodolite garnets. Let this superstar statement necklace remind you to find rays of positivity everyday.
My Process:
To create my unique metal textures, I use a 20-step process which involves using heat from my torch (no solder) to fuse the hand-cut silver pieces to its base. I then soldered 14K tube sets to the textured bases, and set the stones by hand to ensure a perfect fit. Next, I took square, heavy-gauge wire and forged each pieces by hand with repeated hammering and annealing. Then I made each 18K gold jump ring by hand to connect all the parts. Lastly, I applied the patina to the necklace, gave it a final polish, and sealed the patina with a wax. This was one of the most complicated pieces I have ever made, due to making the chain by hand and creating "frames" for the radiance parts to connect properly to the chain.
